Mission

E- CONTENT MANAGER

During the e-learning contents development process it is important to have specialist knowledge about the course subjects concerned, to be able to construct a conceptual map, lay out the texts in detail and guarantee the scientific accuracy of the material. Such specific knowledge is linked to a new professional figure known as the content manager. This new figure above all looks after the aspects connected to producing a teaching scheme which is:

-       Effective: able to assist a deep learning experience which lasts;

-       Efficient: renders the learning possible within a reasonably allotted time scale ;

-       Interesting: holds the students’ attention and gets them involved in the learning process

To be able to do all this the content manager interacts directly with the subject expert and, by means of exhaustive questioning and specific manuals, visualizes the virtual classroom and the communication tools suitable for the job.

Once the conceptual map for the course has been worked out and a macro-project has been done, the content manager and the person in charge of the contents organizes it all within a micro-structure which allows the course students to interact with the subject in the best possible way. At this point an analysis of the displayed language is carried out in order to guarantee a suitably formal appearance, both in regard to the style and the representation, coordinating it with the graphics in order to obtain the desired result. Very briefly, then, the steps which the content manager carries out are as follows:

1 Organizes and /or researches the content material in consultation with the relevant expert

2 Works out a macro-project for the course

3  Designs a micro-structure for the course

4 Analyses the display language

5 Develops the contents

6 Creates layout for story-boards for the learning object

7  Sorts out the formal aspect of the contents (style and appearance)

8  Co-ordinates the graphics team

 AUDIO (VOICE OVER)

Recording the voice-over involves the following stages:

 ANIMATION

Design, compactness, look and feel, usability and creativity, study of interactivity to allow uniform access as well as visibility and distribution of the course on e-learning platforms compatible with the emerging standards - AICC, SCORM (sharable content object reference model), xAPI, CMI-5. Webmarketing, the working of search engines, design and communication, user interface and psychology, a specific web language  (X)HTML, CSS and  a minimum knowledge of programming and animation ( PHP, ASP,  FLASH, XML, Javascript, etc. ),  which make websites more interactive.

Tests formulated by W3C which has laid down standards so that the code used is unique and not “owned” and therefore viewable in a uniform way by the major current browsers as well as all of the tools which allow the visualization or “reading” of a web page, for example on a palm-held device and /or smart phone.
